Built Around the Art

The Canvax began with a blank page. We designed it ourselves from the first sketch — a 40mm automatic in matte black stainless steel, finished with a sapphire crystal. The brief was simple. Room for an artist to work.

Every choice served that brief. The balanced proportions, the integrated case and bracelet, the uncluttered dial — all kept deliberately quiet so the image has space to speak. On its own, the Canvax is a finished watch. Hand-painted, it becomes art you wear.

A Dial Without Limits

This is the part of the Canvax that changes. Our artists have used it for work in many styles — playful and graphic, vivid and illustrative, or a quiet tribute to a place and its symbols. The case stays constant; what sits on the dial never repeats.

Each Canvax here is hand-painted, one piece at a time. The design is original, built around its own idea — a watch worn as much for the painting as for the time it keeps.

Painted Without Magnification

A Canvax dial is a small surface, only a few centimetres across, and our artists paint it entirely by eye. A figure, a line of lettering, a single fleck of colour — all of it goes on at actual size.

The process is slow on purpose. Colours are mixed to match the concept, the image built up in thin layers, the detail checked as it goes. What reads as effortless on your wrist is the result of hours of close, patient work — and when it is finished, it is sealed under the sapphire crystal, where it stays exactly as the brush left it.
